Storytelling is one of the most powerful and engaging ways we change perceptions about mental illness. In Our Own Voice is a unique public education program offered by NAMI Austin in which two speakers share their compelling personal stories of living with mental illness and achieving recovery. In Our Own Voice presentations transform attitudes, assumptions and stereotypes by describing the reality of living with mental illness and providing a powerful message of hope. Join us for an inspiring evening of storytelling followed by an opportunity for question and answer. This event is free and open to the public. Bring a friend, and be prepared to be surprised, inspired and challenged by what you learn!
